You going to use spirit gum to help hold them on?

That is what me and my helper/Girlfriend suggested

Looks good, ser [img]http://i6.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /> As far as painting goes, would I be right in assuming you're going for a relatively bright/cartoony look?

I'm actually going with the whole amount of dead and nasty colors...... trying to look like the character is still mostly human but slowly turning in to a nurgle mutant

Sounds good [img]http://i6.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /> IMHO, the painting so far looks 'unrealistic', but I figured that might've been a stylistic choice [img]http://i6.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' />

What I've seen so far, the knife and the mask, is pretty bright in my eyes. I tend to equall muted to more realistic, but your millieage may vary [img]http://i6.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' />

did some work on the plague mask last night...... now the fun part comes heating the hoses with a hair dryer to get them to bend

haven't posted in a bit sorry...... been getting ready for a Trek convention next month so 40K got put on hold for a few. decided to take some advice and stop making things look so new. Was working on the mask for the costume when i noticed the paint starting to flake away. well at first I was PO'D the paint was flaking till i realized it fit the costume!!!

Also found out that the $1.00 hoses I was gonna use wont work cause after you heat them and they cool down they get stiff as hell, that and the paint wont stick to it [img]http://i6.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/blink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='blink.gif' />

Ah, there we go, the mask looks proper, now [img]http://i6.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /> I hope you can sort something out for the hoses...

Looks good. What about vaccum cleaner hoses? Find an old vac or get a replacement hose at the hardware store. I have used them on other projects with great success. On the painting side get Duplicolor vinyl die and the adhesion promoter from the auto supply store. The stuff is great and will not come off. It is a little on the slick side for painting over but there is nothing better for oddball plastics. It actually soaks in and  handles light scratches better than paint.

I actually went to Home Depot this morning and talked to a few of the guys there and picked up this up to try heck only cost me $10.00 for 2 feet plus connectors:

hello again all time to post up some update pics!!!!

well we spent this weekend working on the banner and pole. we decided that we wanted the banner pole to look like corroded copper pipe. we measured out a pice of PVC pipe so that it was a little smaller then me (about 5 foot) and the cross member of the banner is shoulder length. so we took the pipe and spayed it with a black base coat and then sprayed it with a couple of cans of stone texture paint.

After letting this dry for a day or 2 we sprayed it with hammered copper paint. the plan later is to paint it with green ink to give it that corroded metal look.

the actual banner is going to have the Nurgle fly symbol prolly done in dark green or black paint:

And this is where the banner is at right now:
