It's very sexy [img]http://i6.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' />

Dose the fanclub have a secret handshake?

Hey Matsuo,

Can I ask you how you make the shell for these?
I have been wondering about it for some time... It seems the perfect way to get the detail with out the several pounds of wiegth of a solid gun...but how do you make then and put them togther?

I've actually been really curious about that as well.  They look great and must be so much lighter than my pistols since they're hollow lol.  I'd love to know how you do it! [img]http://i6.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' />

From what I have found so far on the web, it's either a slush type castings or a vac formed pieces in most cases.

Which ever it is I would love a little( read a lot) of insight on the matter [img]http://i6.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' />

Both of those methods would make sense.  [img]http://i6.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' />

I was thinking perhaps hand laid fiberglass.  I just started researching this method to try out some bigger builds without breaking the bank on resin and it looks promising.  I personally don't like slush casting because it always feels so risky lol, and sadly my vacu forming table is only 1' x 1' so it's rather useless for larger builds.

They are cast resin,  from two part molds, no  slushing or vaccing,  just pouring. [img]http://i6.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' />

So you have 2 models for 1 gun, a full 2 part mold for each 1/2 of the gun?

But how did you make the master? Was it scratch build out of clay or something?

They look awesome and whatever you're doing, you're doin' it righ! [img]http://i6.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' />

I have one set of  molds  for the body  of the gun,  from there I cut chop saw and destroy my way to different versions.

Thew master  was 1/4 inch MDF built up hollow box style.

That's awesome Matsuo!  I was wondering if that method would be possible but clearly it not only works, but works very well!

I really appreciate you sharing your technique.  Big thanks for that [img]http://i6.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' />

Now to try it out!
