So last week we decided to chill and take it off, well come today I was eager to get back into the saddle. So today I thought my sword was a bit plain looking and with trail and error I think I finally finished, at least part of my sword [/url]

hello everybody, it's been a while! My computer crashed recently so we have been trying to fix that, so my costuming had to be on hold, but I'm back. So today I cut out my chest template and resized it, I will work on a shoulder design soon. Oh and btw we hope to finish our costumes mostly by july.

btw does anybody know the best way to make a jewel like the high elves have?

Look at Toy's Eldar thread, she has a nice jewel making link and demo up.

Ask toydivision on here about the gems, her eldar costume has a ton and they look fantastic!!

Working with a friend on his LOTR costume, a Range of Ithillien, and that hood is very close look wise to theirs... any chance you have a pattern for it, or any wip shots or a sort type tutorial?

That chest template looks good!!

Yeah I found some sweet info on her thread thanks btw!

Erus- We just made a basic pattern, but the hood part we doubled up, it keeps its shape and as you can see looks pretty good. I would have to ask my friend though what pattern she used.

That'd be helpful... my wife can make just about anything, as long as she has some reference. It's looking great, btw!!

So I went ahead and cut my breast plate and shoulder armor out, I actually used my hands to shape it. I will continue it tomorrow when I have light to see what I'm doing.

Wow. I'm impressed. I've got a personal vested interest in seeing you succeed with this particular costume - I did a decent amount of work on WAR. Send me a PM with your address (please), I've got a present for you. It's not much, and it's probably not something you can use with the costume, but it's a small token of my respect and admiration.

Thank you kaiwanxiao that means a lot! I hope to continue working on this either today or tomorrow I'm not sure busy week. But I will curve the sides where the arms are and hope to eventually emboss some details and designs into it. And on that note does anybody know some cheap yet good tools for embossing metal?

Unfortunately, you aren't going to find cheap and good quality in metal working tools.  My rule of thumb, go to Harbor Freight and buy their cheap tools.  What you'll find is about 10% of them you keep wearing out.  After the third one wears out, pay for a good one of those.
