A lot of people have already seen this, but I'm posting this here to get things started. Other people, feel free to post your completed, WIP, or planned costumes, in this category or any other. As always, I'm happy to answer questions.
The costume is made out of parts from an older costume that is far to horrible to post here. The inferno pistol is made out of darkly stained wood, with the help of a belt sander, and a lathe to carve the slot for the barrel. The barrel is an old brass pipe with a copper end, if I recall correctly.
This costume took me about six months of work on and off.

hey Seraphim,
Have you thought about adding any plate armor parts to it? If you do, let me know and I'll see what I can come up with. [img]http://i6.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' />

I thought about it at the time, but shelved in favor of getting the cloth parts done. I have thought about revisiting this costume, and if I do I'd love to have your input and help. [img]http://i6.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /> Specifically I would make a breastplate, pauldrons, and bracers. Maybe some leg armor too, if I ditched the hoopskirt/underskirt.

i'd use the PVC expanded foam i use for all of those, personally.
depending upon the shapes i can give you some advice on how to form them.

depending on how you want the armor "styled",
heres a link to a differnt forum with a neat way to do overlapping armor plates and such:
http://www.australiancostumersguild.org.au...p?showtopic=275
its more geared to "samurai" type armor, but with a little imagination, i think it could be used for other types as well

Why do I always get new cosplay ideas right when I need to be studying for finals? Why?
Anyway, I did a quick, VERY rough sketch of the idea I had for the armor back in the day. Didn't draw the legs because I had no idea what to do with them, but it gets across the basic armor shapes. I'd probably have to add panels to this skirt to make it work like I drew it, and I don't have any more of the fabric, but I can improvise/make a new skirt. I need a new noble ren faire outfit anyway...
BTW, I love that samurai armor tutorial. Not sure if I could use it for this, but the idea of covering the pieces with cloth could work very nicely for certain parts! Hm, would gold stretch PVC look good stretched over a piece of plastic instead of texturing and painting it?
