So begins another weapon upgrade for brother Lucien. He's getting a plasma cannon for his armory. Not just any plasma cannon mind you. But a very special relic weapon from the past. This started out as an stl. file that I put through Armor Smith and scaled it way up. 45 inches long, 18 high and about 16-18inches wide. I'm making this out of PVC foam board or sintra as it's also called. Trying to keep this thing way light as it's going to be a beast. I was able to unfold this pepakura style and make patterns to cut PVC plates out and cya glue together. Here's progress so far

In the last couple shots you can see the beginning of the inner plywood frame and pistol grip handle with Lucien's glove and forearm for scale. There's still about 10-12inches more of muzzle to stick out the front. Lots of electronics and LED's are getting stuffed into this. I have an ardruino board for the lighting and found the sound file from the Spacehulk game for the cannon shot. I've got 12v USB batteries to run everything so it should last for a while. Pics show the inner frame work that has the handle brackets tied in. That will have the strap bolted to it for my forearm. I couldn't count on this thin foam board to carry the load. Also in the pics is a shot of some mechanical widget that goes underneath on the back side of the barrel shroud. Made of PVC tube, Eva and cardstock plus a few scrounged items. Now, inside the top of the can, I have a plexiglass window to let the light shine out through the end. The plan is to gouge out the skull's eyes and nostrils so you can see the blue plasma glow from inside the container. I've got some really bright 12v interior lights that are ice blue to give the glow. I'll probably put some thin foam packing material to help diffuse the light and disperse it a little more. I've also found 12v USB batteries that are pretty small and have 5v and 12v outputs. Which wlli be perfect to run the ardruino board also. Stay tuned for more...

I still have a few small details to add yet. There's a bracket that mounts on the handle that will allow it to slide into a lug underneath the cannons nose just like a rifle. Also some etching on the center panels on the blade. Stay tuned for more...
