Fatigues for Cadian cosplay
« on: October 26, 2020, 05:09:30 AM »
Hi all,

Wanting to know what people use for the fatigues under the Cadian armour? Been looking around the net and can’t find something that’s gonna work well. I already have the files for the armour pieces so I’m set on that.

Thanks,
Medicae Basil

Mmmm, I don't know what people use, but a light tan uniform would do ok. Most of the cadian jacket is covered by armour, but in some miniatures it can be seen, like the metal ones for the "cadian crew" (You can see them here: https://miniset.net/sets/gw-99060105270). Thorssoli did a great job, which you can see here: http://protagonist4hire.blogspot.com/2013/05/making-my-warhammer-40000-imperial.html?m=1.

Good luck with that cosplay, post pics  with the advances 🙌🙌

Thanks for the Reply. My plan so far is to go off a sewing pattern for s BDU shirt (found one but it’s 1/6th scale do I’ll need to pump it up) but leave the pockets off or by a second hand cheap BDU and rip it down to make a sewing pattern as I plan to have a few variations of the uniform and don’t feel like buying several BDU shirts and altering them all to take the pockets off. Will post my progress once of I’ve started.

Oh, so you are going to SEW it. Jesus. In that case, you may not need to rip a BDU jacket to make the pattern. It sounds weird, but when I needed a warhammer fantasy style imperial soldier uniform for a LARP y got the basic pattern of a jacket from a leather one that fitted me just right. Then is just modify the basic parts which are diferent from what you need. I'll search for that patterns, maybe they are still somewhere in my pile of geek trash 🤣🤣

Found it! The jacket, the patterns I made by tracing it's pieces and the colorful result. I highly recommend doing it first with an old sheet or fabric as cheap as possible to make sure everything fits well before doing the final one, especially if you are using expensive fabric or are a bit clueless like me. Anyway, as far as I can see, they are like double breasted jackets but with just a button in te top right corner. This one could do the job for you: http://www.dr-cos.info/fp-napoleonjacket.html (download links at the end of the page, be carefull, there are children, women and men versions, and various sizes)

I also found a miniature of a cadian tankist, I think is the same jacket as the infantry but shorter, as the other pic I posted, but this one is fastened and you will see it better: https://www.forbiddengaming.co.uk/leman-russ-crew-2356-p.asp

Well, I think I should stop pester you XD good luck!
