Pepakura boot pattern?
« on: August 04, 2019, 02:09:27 PM »
My son (18) has decided he wants to build a Black Templar costume, and I'm going to try to help. We're basing our build on  Sylgian's Ultramarine costume. I've downloaded the pepakura files from here, and will need to do some scaling, since my son is right at 6 feet (183 cm) tall.

We bought some 3/4" PVC pipe and hardware to build the stilts, but we don't know how big to make the "base" or "sole" of the boot. Is there a pep file for the boot design? Or a template we can download from somewhere that shows the size to cut out? And what material do people recommend for the sole? I was thinking of 1/4" to 3/8" marine grade plywood or MDF.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

There are pep boot patterns in the files section.  If you look at the file there are some huge flat peices that are for the bottom of the boot.  I used those as the template for my stilts.  If you use the same pep pattern to make the boots you should be able to attach the edge of the foam boot around the bottom of your stilt platform.
