Starting out a Cadian Sergeant Cosplay, Suggestions?

Hey all! Kinda new to the forum and to cosplay will I'm at it.

I'm heading to New York Comic Con soon and I've always wanted to go as an Imperial Guardsmen, but sadly I had no idea on how to make the costume *exactly*.

I'm mainly looking for ideas for smaller things though, the armor is nothing to fear.

The things I'm looking for are ideas for things like clothing, weapons (things like las pistols and either an officers sword or chainsword), that sort of thing.

I was thinking of going for a blackish armor with either gray or dark red clothing underneath. Here's the headset I plan on using for the sergeant.



The thing thats just erking me is the clothing. I would love to go for looks like these two.





But if that doesn't work out I can always go for the standard sergeant look.
