By the emperor, I can't wait to see you wear the whole costume. Absolutely amazing work so far!

I am really amazed at the difficulty you have had with worbla, and impressed as hell with your sculpting and printing. This build is amaaaaazing.

Thank you Lamia!

As an experienced costumer, how do you normally smooth worbla? I thought between wood glue and sanding it should work but it still looked awful and was ridiculously heavy. I still have a sheet left and am wondering if I should experiment with it more.

I have only used worbla for the first time this past year (gasp!) for my Amidala headpiece. The texture worked really well for the beaten gold effect I needed. However, if you're not already familiar with Kamui Cosplay, you might look into her YouTube channel. I wish I could be of more assistance :(

Oy!

What a busy week it's been. Other than work being relatively busy, I've been a wee bit crippled by sadness and every night has been spent raptly watching the news.

Anyways, work has commenced, especially since during that time, my fabrics came in!

Here is a preview of my sisters robes. The idea is to have black wool exterior, embroidered with gold, with pink silk charmeuse lining. Then trim the whole thing with gold galoons.

Since this is machine embroidered, and each swirl takes approximately 25 minutes, it's been slow going.

Not to mention, I fusiwebed the silk and the wool together after embroidering, then stitched the pink edges closed. Then I HAND BLIND STITCH the entire trim on. (I just can't justify machine sewing on such pretty gold trim!) Anyways... this will take fricking forever. Post again soon when I feel emotionally up for painting up a backpack!

WoW, I love the embroidery despite of being done by sewing machine, the design suits amazingly to armor and the ornament is amazingly chosen, it suits with the style that sisters wear

So since I last posted, I finished the costume, did a photoshoot, went to Adepticon, AND WON BEST IN SHOW AT ADEPTICON!!!!!

I'm super duper proud and psyched to share these photos of the finished sisters.

I think this marks the end of this thread - thanks for following along everyone. And for anyone thinking about cosplaying Sisters, please do! It was SUPER fun and empowering, and we need more SoB out there!

PS: GW, if you're reading this, please make more sisters.
