Updating the warlock
« on: January 31, 2015, 03:21:17 PM »
Original build: http://www.obscuruscrusade.com/forum/index.php?topic=1256.0

Another convention season is starting and I'm beginning to review my build and adjust a few things.

I'm not ready to attempt another cast molding of gems, so I bought some instead. I'm satisfied with the quality I received and now I'm starting to figure out where they all go.

The shoulders will have 2 medium and 1 large

Not 100% sure on the spear, but I'm thinking of using the small gems on the tips. Thoughts?

The lower body armor doesn't have a lot of places for gems, so I'm planning on a single medium in the center of the eye.

As for the chest armor, The large gem looks a little too small in the center, so I'm planning on building a riser to emphasize it better. Thoughts?

In addition to the gems, I'm also researching for cooling vest to help with my overheating issue and I'm designing a belt pouch to hold my personal items. If anyone has a suggestion for cooling systems, I'm all ears.

The warlock in it's current form.

I'm going to try to start my second attempt on the helmet sometime this year. Here's hoping this attempt will turn out better...

Gliggity-gliggity. Angry ginger-elf. Flee!

Dig the clear blade on the spear. Very inspired yet con-friendly.

Yeah, I always visit the con security in advance to make sure that the spear is ok. No issues so far, but I built it such that the spear can be removed and another top piece can take it's place. Side bonus with having the top removable does help is packing the costume for cons.  :)

While I don't have it built yet, I do eventually plan on building a farseer staff. Example:

Also, I'm not a ginger, but thanks for the compliment!

Got the staff top variant almost complete. I'm hoping to get a working version finished for Adepticon.

Yes it needs to say, "The pirates borrowed some of my cargo, played with it a bit and gave it back to me.  They could not have been more courteous"
