Sister Famulous - WIP/Commissioned work pics
« on: June 03, 2016, 03:30:40 AM »
Emperor knows how long I've been on a W40k cosplay hiatus and this year I'm back!

Decided to do Sister Famulous, artwork based on the one in Dark Heresy: The Inquisitor's handbook

Aiming to do as close to reference as possible, except for the book which i did not have enough resources to do and also I made it as the least exception for my overseas travel.

This cosplay is planned for Sydney Supanova 2016 along with Aurelius's Hospitaller

Some early WIP photos:

Fluer de lis details that will be transferred (stick on pleather) and sew on corset

Plastic Skull before painted:

Plain stub revolver before its painted and weathered. Will upload the "after" photos. Thanks Aurelius for sending me some of the casts fleur de lis!!

Knee pads during sealing process before paint

Half skirt. adding in details. I have also dyed it a little grey to match the reference

Ring of Suffrage. Its not shown/hardly tell from the reference, but this is one of the things she carry so I just wing it.

more finishing WIP photos next time

Looking forward to seeing what you do with the candles. I built a headpiece with battery operated tealights, and am happy to offer suggestions if you get stuck.

Middle WIP photos. After painted / finished pieces ready for attachments/fasteners:

Cured and painted fleur de lis! I stick them on pleather and sewing them on the corset by the edge of the sculpt, then cut off the excess later.

Knee pads painted, weathered and highlighted

After painted stub revolver <3

The Chaplet-Ecclesiasticus! The round base is a powder compact case btw. I can check if my eyeliners are on point before questioning heretics.

Ring of Suffrage done

Just FYI, this build is pretty much done. left final test fit on the fasteners system that my husband help with the shoulder pads then its packing the whole thing for next weekend's debut!

Thanks for offering suggestion! Since I got the headgear and shoulder pad commissioned, my prop builder and I figure out using electronic faux candle which flickers that we bought online! There's some modifications done to make them battery operated and it turned out brilliant which I had posted in OC FB's group quite recently.

Looks great so far... :)

Thank you, I'm quiet anxious for my debut next weekend!
