Iron within, Iron without
« on: February 09, 2016, 02:49:03 PM »
Hi all,

Just wanted to share my iron warrior marine I made.

This is the 5ft version made of Eva foam and thermoplastic reinforcements.

This size was chosen to go to the small cons here in the UK.

I am hoping to start a warsmith which will be 7ft next.

I will still be upgrading and improving this one.

Thanks.

I would love to do Honsou,  but don't think I could pull the silver arm off.  Will be basing mine on the warsmith model. :)

That looks great!  Do you have any build pix or info?

Sorry for the late reply,  I'm ill at the moment.  I don't seem to have the pics on my phone, other than these attached for some reason.

As for details I can quickly give the following
I would be more than happy to answer and questions or take pics of any certain area to help others.

The build was my first cosplay costume I attempted for the london anime gaming convention in 2015.

I started of using the brilliant foam files from I think jpf?

I used Eva foam matting as the base material.  And then thermo plastic bandages for stiffening the foam.

I partly made the backpack to the template then free handed it into the choas version.

The knee joints are made from the plastic joints found in certain sports injury supports.

I tried to use ducting to give the leg joints the space marine feel. But they don't work brilliantly.

The shoulder pads rotate independently from the arm and use a wheel castor as the base.

The inside of the chest has 15mm flexible plumbing pipe as support.

The chest has 2 fans in, one to suck in air and the other to blow air out.

The eyes in the helmet were made from glow specs.

I 3d modelled the chapter badge and belt buckle and used my 3d printer to produce them

Again sorry for poor quality of this post. I will tidy it up once I'm 100%
