I have to say that I've watched blade runner and found it rather dull. The way people go on about it I was rather disappointed   [img]http://i6.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' />

But anyway, to add my list:

13th Warrior
Beowulf and Gendel
Stardust
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
Hero
Dragon Wars
District 9

I will add more when I've thought of some  [img]http://i6.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' />

My favorites from the movies listed (which are all pretty awesome by the way, minus Eragon of course)

Equilibrium (Clerics hell yeah)
Night watch and Day Watch
Dog Soldiers
Immortal
The Returner
Event Horizon (My roommate freaked when i started watching this, apparently it was his childhood nightmare or something. PERFECT)
Mad Max 1,2, and 3
Movies I have all ready seen but got reminded to watch again:
Willow - lotr before lotr was a movie
The Labyrinth (dat codpiece, also my favorite movie of all time)
Fifth Element - one of my all time favorites

I have been slowly working my way through the super old movies (hawk the slayer and legend are up next) I would have watched more (and I did, some of them I liked less then others, like Casshern.. hated the fighting too much to like Casshern)
Have been forced to finish the 5th season of Supernatural (well, catching up on the last half in preparation for tonights 6th season premiere) and haven't watched any more in the last day or two. I will eventually watch everything listed here. Some of them I have been having a harder time finding.

Finn, you have excellent taste.

Are we still sticking to fantasy? If so, here's more I thought of:

The Witches
Little Monsters

Non-fantasy:

Bill and Ted (1 and 2)
The Explorers
Last Starfighter
Enemy Mine
Dark Star
Soylent Green
Judge Dread
Dark City
Ghostbusters (1 & 2)

You, sir, are dead to me.

Blade runner is all about the rich world that Scott made reality for me.

Every frame is so richly detailed down to the smallest detail, it really formed my visual pallet from that moment on. I suggest you watch it again and really *LOOK* at the movie, see the movie as a whole and how it was realized before all the CG took over modern movies.

Oh, don't get me wrong, the visuals are awesome. Landscapes, sets etc, are all great, but the story was dull. True, the story can be amazing but be let down by the sets, but it works the other way round too.

Most of these movies are excellent, even if they're not all fantasy or sci-fi. You guys have good taste.

Cthulhu (2008) and Dagon are great dark fantasy movies. I don't know if I'd go as far to call them horror, maybe dark fantasy if I use the term loosely. I'm not sure how exactly you define Lovecraft's writing other than "weird fiction", but "weird fiction movie" doesn't sound right. AM 1200 is also good! Short and not very scary, just kinda creepy at parts, but good.

I loved Pan's Labyrinth and the Hellboy movies. I can't wait for the del Toro version of At the Mountains of Madness.

i used to work in the place that inspired the city at the beginings skyline...apparently ridley scott and a few of his team were filming in mid-wales and they were on the motorway (highway) passing through my town (this is back when blade runner was in the concept art stages) and he drove past the steel works site (biggest in the UK) and is apparently quoted as saying:-

"that is what i want my city to look like" as he looked out the window at the site i worked at for 2 years

dont know if its a true story but its believable lol

if you drop the wierd pyramid in the middle of it it really does look like the city [img]http://i6.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/tongue.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tongue.gif' />

Make sure you watch one of the Director's Cuts.  The theater version has a bunch of stuff in it that the studio forced Ridley to put in.  The Director Cut (haven't seen the Final Version) is infinately better.
