Hope you had fun at FanExpo, thanks for the purity seals. Using a beer bottle to make the center divot is brilliant. You plan on making it to Ottawa or Montreal next year ? Could be cool to meet up.

I'm not sure what I'll be able to do next year as this trip really strained my budget.  I will be playing it by ear for next year but will make sure to keep you on mind if I make it down there.

I am back though and that means it is time for completed pics they are uploading right now and I will be getting them posted ASAP.

Okay well first of all I learned a lot from this build and will transfer that to when I eventually build another one.  Report from the con on my costume was that it was a huge hit and I could barely walk 15 feet without being mobbed.  I was very happy with my mobility as I was able to easily walk throughout the entire convention and even on the crowded floors but I was also very glad to stay in the hotel attached to the convention centre since it meant I barely had to carry anything.  I encountered a few problems mainly with the legs and stilts.

First of all, the stilts.  The right one broke within 20 minutes of wearing the costume.  The problem was from the wood I used being too cheap and tearing apart under the stress.  In an attempt to fix them I grabbed the only thing in the close by corner store that I could feasibly use...tins of cat food.

This worked for about an hour the next day then promptly broke as well.  This was made worse by the fact that the tine then broke open and filled my boots with cat food...I count it a lesson learned.

Secondly the bolts around my knee joint had a habit of working their way loose and then rubbing into my knee.  This caused a bit of bleeding but was something I could fix and love with.  Here's what my knee looked like.

Finally for a few pics!

The costume took up a little space in the truck...

I did makeup for the first time for this build and also wore contacts for the first time.  Both were interesting and turned out pretty well I think.

Another obligatory space diaper picture!

It was funny, I agree with you there.  What made it worse was that I have no idea when the cat food broke open since apparently the smell did not make it up the costume to my nose.  I can only hope the people around me couldn't smell it either.  I was undressing in the prep room for the masquerade and was standing there wondering what the hell smelled so weird when I decided to check my stilts and got a facefull of cat food.  I had to invert the boots over a garbage can and hope that would be enough.

Also when I got home My cat was really interested in my boots....

Sorry for not replying in so long.  I haven't been active on any forums in quite a while.

All my patterns were from Henrik's files which can be pretty easily searched for on this forum.  The shoulders I just made from scratch with no pattern.
