I used a cap for a PVC pipe to make the "runes" on the seals. I made 1 impression then turned it about 40 degrees and pressed it again, the over lapping letters make it look like "runes" [img]http://i6.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' />
Smart move! Good idea and I think I'll copy that move one day...
More then welcome to it, simple trick.

You might keep you eye out for things that can give you a better effect like any kind of caps with rised lettering on them.

Dont take this the wrong way, but are the eyes suppose to look like pumpkin carving eyes?

Weathering and overall construction look great!!

If you're going for smokey, I would lightly mist the front with black spray paint.  It still looks a little too white to me for just coming out of a fire fight (no pun intended).

Well, there lays the rub.... How much becomes to much...

I might hit it again with the cream/parchment colored paint I have to bring down the white. I used it on the undersides/shadowed areas already..

It's a fine line between clever and stupid [img]http://i6.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' />

The rule I've used to great effect is when you get to the point of saying "I just need this one more thing", stop.

Some WIP pic's with the glowing eyes in the battle damaged Sabbat helm.. I think I might add 2 or more LEDs make it glow brighter.

With flash.

I like it a lot.

BY THE WAY, the sunken eye trick kicks ass, and I'm going to use it for my helmet as well.

I might have missed it somewhere along the line, but, how does one avoid blinding oneself with eyes lit like that?

It's actually prett easy.  LEDs primarily show light in one direction so you just make sure that end is pointed at the other guy (kind of like a sword or gun [img]http://i6.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /> ).  The other option is you attach them to something opaque that keeps the light from bouncing into your eyes.  As far as light getting into the eye holes most LEDs have a max viewing angle of 90 degrees, so the light from above is more like shining a dim flashlight above you than directly into your eyes.

Yep, that's what I did. used a piece of plastic to reflect the light out the eye. [img]http://i6.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' />
