$738....jebus...

You're right, I can easily make that, but not by Halloween.  Oh well.  Plan B I guess.

*Raises thread from the dead*

Ok so I know threadromancy is a bad thing (Lets face it, zombies of any kind suck) However, I finally got some pics of my other costume! The snow was amazing so me and a mate went out and snapped some pics of my Bretonnian Knight/Knight of Winterfell.

And just for fun, a few artsy ones

The helmet and chainmail look...interesting. What materials are they?

The helmet is actually made out of card. The hauberk (The one that covers my body) is made of riveted aluminium. The coif (the bit on my head) is made from steel

I have a Halo Marine and the jacket to a Zeon MS pilot cosplay but that is it for other stuff.

@Jet_Texas: Were you by any chance at All-Con 2010 as a Commissar and Jet Black?

as for my "other" projects,
i'm working on a fallout new vegas NCR ranger costume
or as some know him: "that cool looking dude on the front cover of the new vegas game"

pretty fond of the design of this guy, so i decided to try my hand at making the best i can for him.
was eager to try out foam armor techniques i see popping around, and wanted to see what different thickness foam will do when combined..
so i started with the armored riot vest first.

i drew a paper plan by hand, eye'ballin' it and then copied a symetrical version of it to card stock till i was satisfied,
after that i cut the shapes in foam.

and rounded the edges

started to form them into good shapes with some heat.

and then glued them down, as well as using some elastic strapping to make a "rig" for the vest to be wearable.

I'll see your brettonian knight, and raise you a Plate, Maille and leather tournament armour:

The sunglasses are a running joke in the tournament circuit. Here's me wearing the whole lot, mounted, with helmet as well:

The horse costume is mine, but the horse isn't. Lovely girl though, completely fearless.

I've been collecting and making Star Wars costumes for years before I got involved with W40k costuming last year.

I started out with a Jedi Costume back in '05, then I made a field gray Imperial Officer costume (tailor made it the wrong size so I just loan it out to anyone who would fit for use during trooping events). I also have two Royal Guard costumes; one ROTJ and one ROTS, a 95% finished TIE Pilot costume (helmet need to be painted, padding and lenses added, and a new commpad), an unassembled TK kit (AP), and a  99% finished ROTJ Vader (just need accurate green lights for the belt boxes).

You can see some bits and pieces of my SW costumes HERE and HERE

Ah, I see. The helmet is what I figured, but it's the riveted aluminium that threw me off [img]http://i6.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' />

Other costumes huh ok welllllllll you asked for it

Dragon*con 2009 I did the Star trek Red shirt:

Me and my cousin before the parade

dragon*Con 2010 I did a Klingon and a quick pirate.

and please dont let your friends drink to much and play with balloons (Dragon*con 2009)  or you get pics like this:
In the embrace of the great Nurgle, I am no longer afraid, for with His pestilential favour I have become that which I once most feared: Death.
