Finished all (at least hope so) work on bolter other than side-panel battle scene. But magalomania can not be stopped...
So I made underbarrel attachment point from brass tubing:

And started a work on removable combi-flamer attachment:

Fitted to the gun:

Front (a lot of work to be done):

More work, mostly on combi-flamer attachment.
Beefed up front

Left side. I also got some cheap scope to use on bolter, there will be more 40k details on it.

Bolter is basically finished, aside from side-pannel battle scene.
Scope needs front protective cap and it's chain plus few details.
Combi-flamer attachment needs finishing, maybe another day of work.
Then off to painting. It will be painted in relatively simple black/gold scheme with few gunmetal details and scratches and dings painted on in silver.

Well, construction wise the beast is finished... Only decorative side-panel is left.

Mag bottom was finished:

I like it, but my one comment is the flamer seems a little weak in it's attachment... It doesn't look like it would hold up to any impacts given the small area it has to fit to the bolter. Also the tank for it seems small, maybe it'd only hold 1/2 a burst of flame ( was this your intent?)

Other then that, looks good and I like the "real world " approach to the scale.

Mounting is actually very solid, I tried it by holding it by attachment and swinging bolter around, no problems. Those brass tubes hold it really well.
There are two ammo flasks, small brass for pilot flame (from old lighter ironically) and rounded one in rear part of attachment before trigger. I intended it to be more like exterminator cartridge from Necromunda than real combi flamer.
I will also make single shot melta, plasma and grenade launcher attachment, I already got dummy 40mm grenade casing and appropriate tube... All interchangeable with flamer.

Trial cast (in dental plaster) of some bits and pieces. All except scull are handmade.

As can be seen there are some errors and bubbles, but mostly due the hurried nature of work - those will not be used for costumes and will end as terrain pieces, but I wanted to see if moulds turned well. They did. :)

Started painting the bugger finally...
Nice (very) flat black undercoat:

Tried painting mag first.... Now it looks almost the same as before painting. :)

Did gold on bolter... Warning, bad pics (crappy phone camera):

Unlike magazine gun will be blue-black, something like this:

Main work finished, still missing some decorations, like sideplate battle scene, fluorescent paint on rear sight, safe/singe/full auto indicators on selector switch etc.

Rear =I=, sling swivel and scull:

Top view, attachment points for scope can ge seen. I still need to paint charging handle.

Magazine details:

Bottom of the grip, it was painted also, even if there is not much difference from before painting... If you can get those grips I can highly recommend them, they look similar enough to the artwork, save a lot of work and should be about 5-6$ in US (just google "yugo AK grip"). There will be also small attachment point on a grip for one of those brass =I=

Everyone's favorite "Do you feel lucky punk heretic?" view. I may still add rifling, but that is a long term...

Thanks, for me those little details really can make a prop, so I like making them even if some of them were total PITA...

Painted scope and a friend did side panel battle scene.

Details of battle scene - it was engraved in plasticard than painted gold.

Modified attachment interface between combi-flamer and bolter, mostly painted combi flamer. Hazard stripes on fuel container were must have :) :

Finished painting scope, it has slight blue shine (but much less than a bolter) now. I also made and painted a front end-cap to look like leather (it was missing previously):

Whole thing and old autopistol. At the bottom of grip is an added attachment point for little brass =I= (still to be made):

Still needs logo of order of sisters (should be Ebon Chalice for Calixis sector) and few other minor decorations.

Little =I= (30x18mm) on the bottom of the grip:

Crappy phone pics, but scull mounted on a little chalice (made of copper sheet), symbol of both Calixis sector and Order of the Ebon Chalice.

That chalice is a nice touch
