Nice idea on the changing lens color. I'm also working with Arduino, but am tackling the voice changer and sound player shields.

It has been decided; as my friend is also doing a build at the same time, we finally picked a chapter and paint scheme.

It's a compliant chapter; I'll leave the name out so the know-it-alls can bask in showing off their knowledge.

We'll be following this paint scheme/armor setup

Sadly I didn't paint those minis myself. I was a blood angels somewhere in the early 90s then switched to playing a Tau army when those came out. Sadly I believe I only got to dust off my armies once during the last couple years. Still have all my 2nd ed models

I will, on the other hand, build and paint a mini to match the full size suit. Since we're on the subject, here's a small gallery of my own minis. Painted 7-10 years ago...

It's update time again. Took a "holiday" from work on thursday which ended up being the "spend 20h straight with no breaks working on a backpack day". At least the progress is noticeable. Onto the pics :

The white stuff is Gesso. You can get it at arts supply stores. It's intended use is to smooth out canvas before painting on it. It takes at least 5-6 coats before you can sand it, re-coat, sand, etc. I'm a bit of a perfectionist so it's a tedious process but it does cover seams beautifully. It starts to crack when it gets too thick or if you bend it too much or scrape it against something. My helmet allready has Gesso + PlastiDip and the dip really fixes any issue with the cracking.

Edit : Not to be mistaken with the white foam on the backpack; we're talking about the torso piece here.
