Well then, I believe it's time to finally make a thread logging the progress of my GK armor seeing as how it's been lying around my room collecting dust for several months. But first, a history lesson!

I started building a cheaply constructed cardboard and foam base about a year and a half ago for a standard suit of Grey Knight power armor. It wasn

I have to say, if I had the money and such to.  I'd seriously ask ya to make a wrist mounted storm-bolter for myself.  'Course the trick would be to make it look more fitting on an Inquisitor in carapace armor instead of power.

Speak of the devil...

All of the piping is removable until I can glass and paint it. And who knows? If I like the results, I just might make you one some day.

I'm going to buy a pole for the halberd tomorrow, but here are the bases I made this afternoon for the nemesis weapons.

Are you going to glass the segments seperately? I also might suggest, instead of gel/glassing them all up that you might consider investing in some sintra. Sintra will be by-and-large the same durability as glassed stuff, but will be much lighter, and your cardboard can serve as templates for cutting out the plastic. Sintra also smoothes to the same texture as bondo and fiberglass, so you can use those if you already have them to patch, join, and reinforce.

handel looks too thin , so far you got a good idea , check out how the guys in the 501st hook up their storm trooper armour i think you could use the idea if you need to or at least give you some ideas .

Thank you for the suggestions.

Yes, I'm building the weapons up from cardboard, yes the handle holds up nicely, and although I am pleased with what fiberglass and cardboard have done for me so far, I will definitely look into some Sintra.

Trying new materials is a big big big thing for me.

In other news...

I worked on the helmet a bit tonight, tiding me over until my fiberglass mat comes in the mail. I'm really eager to get the weapons finished, but raw cardboard is a big no-no for conserving resin, so we'll see what I end up doing.

It's a disturbingly nice fit by the way. :D

Pictures are going to be scarce for the next couple of weeks due to serious overhaul.

After that, however, mega update is eminent. :D

I'm making a fiberglass composite via resin and mat once all those horrific bumps are gone.

I made some composite gauntlets from scratch earlier this week but they looked like shit so I'm basing future composites off of the older pieces to save time/money.

It's going to be at least a month before I get around to doing that though because of all adjustments I have to make.

Can't wait!
