That PEX seems like a really good way to build the internal structure, now i have three reasons to dislike you, AMAZING sith stalker, Ultramarine, and multiple bad ass designs building this one....lol! Well done Battle Brother!
Bring me the tainted Sons of Sanguinious and I shall lead them to a glorious victory and a warriors death.

The PEX tubing works great and is pretty cheap. About 9 bucks for 25'. I used about 15' in the cod. However, the cost of the connectors will easily pile up. They are over a dollar for each connection. This would be about $15-20 for just the connectors in the cod alone. The chest will require even more.

I have been using my 3D printer to make my own connectors and keep costs down. I can print off any connector I might need for under a nickel. Its something to keep in mind if youre planning on using the PEX tubing in your build.

Tips from a pro.  Now all I need is a 3D printer.  One day...

Highly recommended. The 3D printer is incredibly fun. It's amazing the uses you can find/invent for it. I love mine. Probably my favorite tool.

In other news, I did a small bit of detail work on the neck of my chest piece and did some online shopping. I ordered a pair of Glospex glasses in red for my helmet and some 10" diameter flexible ducting for the joints in the legs pieces.

My webbing (strap material) comes in tomorrow and my shipment of foam the day after. I plan on doing all of the rigging for the lower half this weekend. If all goes well i will be taking some video of walking tests done while wearing the lower half.

The glospex are pretty sweet.  I really like mine.  You might have to modify them to fit the helmet nicely though.  Just  a heads up.

My webbing came in, as did my second shipment of foam. I have been diligently working on the rigging of the thighs and cod and am glad to say I have made some progress.

I made myself a pair of suspenders and added an internal skeleton to each thigh to strengthen as well as provide mounting points. So far its working really well. I am optimistic about doing some walking tests this weekend with the whole bottom half mocked up.

(P.S.- I realize many of my pictures links are not working. This is probably because the RPF is down for maintenance. If it does not work once the RPF comes back up I will fix.)

VIDEO LINK: Lower half walking test #1

I got some rigging done for the lower half. It is still in its infancy, but I wanted to have some fun. Click the link above for video.

After the initial testing of the lower half of the costume I decided the knee joint needed revisiting. The first mock up i did just used a few nylon straps between the thigh and the shin. This let the shins wobble around too much.

I designed and 3D printed a simple rigid joint to replace the straps. It attaches to the PVC skeletons that are built inside the foam armor. Now the shin and thigh are hard mounted to each other and can only bend in one direction. It works really well! It looks much more solid now.

Here are some images of the joint itself. There is one on either side my knee.
