You could create a wooden core that is the shape of your entire piece that will make everything more solid.

Something I did a while ago, but forgot to put up here.

And the results of today's boredom.

About to get off work, and then I'll have three days to work on my suit, can't wait! Hope y'all enjoy teh doodles....

Nice touch, with the removable magazine.  That is a massive bolt shell.

Got the detailing on the pistol finished this weekend. Fixed the grip issue by assembling a new one with a metal rod sandwiched in the middle. Now I just gotta seal it and get it painted.

Excellent bolt pistol dude. I like the bolt round, very nice. What did you use to make it?

It was 2 pvc pipes and a plastic nut cap that I found at Lowes while looking for the barrel.

Ahhh to be a driven heretic!  [img]http://i6.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/laugh.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='laugh.gif' />

I'm really liking that bolter shell in the magazine, especially as it's something so simple!

Looking forward to seeing what the Lord of Change drives you to create!  [img]http://i6.ifrm.com/14623/129/emo/16cdc5b15cd9c49d4f9f321aaff2ff96.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='16cdc5b15cd9c49d4f9f321aaff2ff96.gif' />  [img]http://i6.ifrm.com/14623/129/emo/01459939e94f5adb33facf235d2e7c00.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='01459939e94f5adb33facf235d2e7c00.gif' />

Beware the x-acto blade, the glue burn, the paint fume.

Whew, hey guys, I know I haven't updated this in.... years..... ugh. Anyway, I finally decided to get back on my build and am currently trying to fill the gaps in on the shoulders. I used some spackling putty and I'm already noticing cracks. This is a new area for me, is that normal?, will it crack my paint even after sealing and plastidiping? I've seen Ronan's sealant comparison and gave that dap a try on another project but you can't sand it so I'm hesitant to try it again, but if I do will I need to clean the spackling out of the seams first?

If I'm not mistaken, spackling putty is going to dry hard and won't led itself well to as a gap filler. I'd definitely suggest cleaning out what you can and trying something like DAP Kwik Seal.

Also welcome back to the fold heretic.

Beware the x-acto blade, the glue burn, the paint fume.
