I am getting a bit nervous now. The con is in two days.

Here's the thing. The costume is hot - like an oven. I have the gorget in foam, the torso in foam, the shoulders in foam, and the whole thing covered with a red polyester stormcoat. There is no way to get any air in or out of my body.

I tried a dress rehearsal a few days ago -and it is hot.

How can I modify it to get the air circulating?

You should think about it before starting  of costume making.

This really turned out well.  Great job.

As for over heating.  any chance you could stuff some coldpacks inside there somewhere?  It would be a lot easier than rigging fans last minute.

Also try to stay hydrated, that can make a big difference.

@zx81 thank you

@clothar and everyone: it's the gorget/neck tube. this thing traps the heat. I am considering ditching it.

Cold packs are a good idea. And water - must hydrate. Got it. I have a muggle support team so they should keep me well.

Con is tomorrow - I should be fine. I will give a full report with pics and video.

Underarmor heatgear. You can get it in long sleeves. It sounds miserable but it is HEAVENLY! It basically squeezes you and keeps your pores open. I was cold in it sometimes in Atlanta in the summer!

I can attest to a similar effect. I was nice and cool in Florida during a troop ages ago in the middle of summer!

Here's a video of my costume.

Drogan Video
Geeez I totally missed the "hey I finished my costume" part. I just wanted to say it's very inspiring for me, seeing you going from an idea to the finished "product" in such a short time. And the result really is something to look at. Wow [img]http://i6.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' />

I was lucky to meet kenkthulhu and see this costume in person at a local con back in April.

It looks brilliant.

Sweet work dude [img]http://i6.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' />

I especially like the bionic. I may need to get a step by step for making one for my Witch Hunter >.>
