When it is cocked, it is also charged. The mechansism could also be referred to as being in the rear position (but if you are worried about the word "cock" then referring to that position may also cause you angst).  [img]http://i6.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='rolleyes.gif' />

LOL that is correct. When the firing mechanism is fully to the rear and in a position to fire, it is referred to as "cocked". After the assembly cycles and causes the weapon to function the projectile heads downrange. If it is single shot, and does not use blow-back to rearm the mechanism, it is then discharged.

Think of it as the spring inside. You charge the spring by compressing it with the handle at the front and pushing it to the rear of the housing. When it fires, it spring pushes forward. Clear as mud? : )

That sucks, but it looks great.

Could you make a channel in the bottom of the grip to reach in with your finger and pull back the pump?

Edit:
You'd have to detach the pump from the grip so it could move freely with in the grip.

You'd have a channel cut out from the bottom of the front grip, but from any angle other then the bottom it should look like a solid bolter.

Don't worry, you may have of lost a nerf gun, but you have gained a bolter.

All it needs now is a few coats of paint.

DAY 6 (of work) :barrel bonanza!

what do you guys think i could do to the handle?

i know the barrel is a bit smaller than it should be, but i really wanted that copper thing in front of it

i was going to make the holes on the main barrels, but did not want to risk making it look bad

shoots great.
now all that's left is painting it and putting the screws.

Looking good!  For the handle on my bolter I just found some old strips of leather and wrapped them around it.  Its easy, looks cool, and added comfort; all good things.
