Wow, cool looking, but I'm not sure what's going on at the neck...is that for the rebreather tubes? and why you put the fluer upside down on it...
Over all I am very imprrssed and like the detailing on the cups.

keep it up!

Yea, the chunky thing is for the rebreather tubes :)  The fluer isn't really quite a complete fluer as much as it is just a design element.  I just thought it was more aesthetically pleasing to have the design a reverse of the complete fluer below it.  Two fluers one on top of the other I just thought would look repetitive.......

And thanks! :D

Hopefully it will all look much more cohesive once everything is painted and put together.... gotta figure out how I'm gonna do the pauldrons now, cause I don't want them attached directly to the breastplate the way I see most people do it..... i'm afraid it will restrict movement too much.  So thats the next thing to tackle!

Nothing too exciting tonight, just made my purity seals...... letting them dry before sealing them and attaching the little prayer "parchments". :)

Also made the back plate that goes over my shoulders, to which I will be attaching the every wonderful crowning piece, the pauldrons, and eventually the life support unit pack thingie (though, this part may not be finished by Halloween and I may just replace it with a big red cape or something... I dunno... too Super Sister? ;)

Just in case you all thought I dropped off the planet!  I didnt!! Made quite a bit of progress, though I didnt get to have it completed in time for Halloween :(  But its a good thing I think.... so I can spend more time focusing on the quality of the finished piece :)

So here is what I've got so far....

These are the gauntlets, one is oversized and is meant to be a mini powerfist of sorts, I will be adding individual pads of foam over each segment of my fingers to bulk them up on the glove that will go with it.  Its all only primed at this point, so I still need to paint it all and do detail work, but I laid the "OBEY" thingie on there to show where I intend to place it :)

These are the shoulders, Im quite pleased with how they are turning out, I intend to do a bit more shaping of the neck guard so it is more squared off and add a segment that goes around the back. Obviously there is still quite a bit of work to do to these.... ;)

A couple more shots of left and right....

Here are the boots and shin guards..... they are two separate pieces.... but the bottom of the shin guard overlaps the boots nicely I think :) Still need to do quite a bit of touching up and battle damage to the shin guards.

Here is a close up of the battle damage on the boots :)

The breastplate is looking a little sad at the moment as it sits with its third coat of wood glue to cure, then it will be ready for priming and painting. :)

I'm having a ton of fun with this!  Hope you all are enjoying watching my progress and hopefully I can inspire others the way you guys have been inspiring me!

Now i think I will go work on the little strips of fabric for my purity seals using Sylgians awesome tutorial!

The acetone worked pretty well for transferring text to fabric. So well I made a little tutorial for everyone.

Enjoy!

Looking great so far. Loving the detail on the gauntlets and chest plate.
The shoulder guard looks big, how far do they stick out from your shoulders? Can you see over the neck guard?

Thanks!  Yea, I plan on cutting that down so it goes straight across instead of curved, then adding a piece on the back to complete the neck guard.  The front will remain open as the breastplate has a piece that goes up pretty high... roughly modeling my armor after the armor on the Sister on the left side in this piece of art..

Those purity seals are top notch too. I am impressed with the detail from hand-crafting. Did you use the crayon+melted hot glue method?

Nope, they were scukpted from polymer clay and fired. Painted them with a crimson acrylic and did a wash in black. I painted several layers of modge podge to keep them nice and rigid :)

Here is the back..... the power pack will set a little low and be designed a bit differently from the norm...  Still have to work that out. I intended to have it detachable for easy removal and I can sit! :D
Hopefully this will all make much more sense once primed and painted.

Incredible work so far. The battle damage on the boots look great.
