NECRO POST lol

Just an idea for you guys.  When using the large laser tag guns I have for my custom mando, I use a Husky clip I got from Home Depot.  Its usually for holing drills and such and its very sturdy but u can move it around for a comfortable fit.

I know Its long gone and destroyed.. but the bolt pistol I made I just attached to my belt with velcro... not exactly a prime solution, but it worked.
How about a magnetic clip that holds the gun to the hip?

Well in a universe where weapon sights are gene-coded to stop the firing of the bolter to prevent astartes from shooting eachother...is it that far of reach to think that maybe they have something akin to a magnetic holster?

Of course looking at all my book covers, the bolter is never NOT in their hands.  And any reference to not having it in their hands they mention a strap (like a sling or a strap for modern weapons that goes over the soldier.

Still I can see the same thing being applied to the scabard for a chainsword.

No. The weapon has a trigger guard, and thus it is nearly impossible for the trigger to be accidentially depressed. I'm fairly certain that the guns also have some kind of security to prevent them being fired by anyone other than a SM of the same chapter. (this would probably just be limited to the owner in the case of IG and other normal mortals)

lol, i was just having fun is all [img]http://i6.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='rolleyes.gif' />

I said that because the clip is sitting right on the trigger it the photo, I'll add a few more smilies next time [img]http://i6.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /> [img]http://i6.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /> [img]http://i6.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' />

There are a few examples of bolt pistol holsters in both the art work and on the mini's, but I argee, given the scale it's no simple matter.

In the 40k book I am reading, Dark Apostle, theres a point where a CSM drops his bolter to grab someone and it says "the chain attached to the gun pulled it back to sit on his belt till its needed once more".  Elastic Chains??  [img]http://i6.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' />  [img]http://i6.ifrm.com/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' />
